Introducing the 'Economy Class'
Wednesday, 09 February 2011 18:09

The launch of the Classic 2CV Racing Club's new 'Economy Class':
This season, the club is introducing a new class to the field of 2CV racing - The Economy Class has been designed to encourage 2CV road drivers, race novices, schools and colleges to take part in motorsport, in either a newly built or previously out-dated 2CV racer.

Getting on to the grid for less has never been so easy! See the poster below for details, and there's more detailed information in the championship regulations - which can be found at www.2cvracing.org.uk/joinus

You can also see the club forum for questions and answers. We are hoping to get at least 5 cars for this new class which will run alongside the championship class, so spread the word!

Preparations are already well under way for another fantastic season of Classic 2CV racing in 2011! While the racers are still braving the elements, preparing their cars in cold garages for the coming season, the club have been very busy thrashing out the details of the 2011 calendar.

There are six meetings in total, four of which are 'double headers' (2 x 20 minute races), one is a 2 hour race at Croft, and the final race being the historic 24 hour race at Snetterton - making a total of 10 races.

Entry fees are £350 for the double-header meetings, which makes 2cv racing still one of the best value championships in the UK! Ideal for 2 drivers sharing a car.

The 2010 24hr race on video
Wednesday, 01 December 2010 16:09

For this year's annual 24 hour race, Motor Sport magazine journalist Ed Foster was invited to join the Fine Print team and see first-hand what 2CV endurance racing was all about. Having survived his ordeal, he subsequently wrote an article for Motor Sport magazine, and very good it is, too!

However, he also brought a camera and a couple of people with him to record the adventure. Initially this was just for posting on the Motor Sport website, but MotorsTV (satellite TV channel in the UK/Europe) picked up this video and broadcast it during the early days of November.

You can now watch Ed's experience of the 24 hour race, by clicking this link to the Motor Sport magazine website. Enjoy!
