After the spectacle that was Mallory Park, it was back to normal at Oulton. Having said that, the 2CVParts.com championship runners still found themselves on the programme of the Dunlop Great and British race meeting on the bank holiday weekend. Unfortunately the 2CVs were racing on the Saturday whilst everyone else was racing on the Monday, which meant few spectators and no commentary. Still, that wouldn’t bother the drivers as they had enough to concentrate on, with the rain pouring down!

Mallory master David O’Keeffe had had his 15 minutes of fame and was a no-show. Also not racing was Phil Myatt, who having raced at Mallory, was now unable to hold a steering wheel after more work had been done on his crushed finger. So it was back to ‘normal’ as the 17 cars entered splashed their way on to the track for the first qualifying session.

Crisis Racing on pole position! That was what the timing screens said after qualifying ended, much to the joy of Nick Roads and Hugh McCurrich. However it was soon noticed that McCurrich's time was some 10 seconds faster than anyone else, and had been set as he came through the pitlane to change drivers halfway through the session! With the car duly demoted to 19th (bit of an anli-climax), there was still a bit of a shock as the front row was a Robinson 1-2. Father and son had been working together in qualifying and it had paid off, as they locked out the front row. Myatt was 3rd ahead of Simon Clarke (replacing Cowling), O'Keeffe, Fritchley and Matthew Hollis.

When promoter Magnus Laird first approached the Classic 2CV Racing Club with the proposal of a live televised race meeting, a few people could have been forgiven for thinking it was some sort of joke! But serious he was, and so it was to be that on May 16th 2010, the 2CVs lined up on the grid along with a number of other championships, to take part in the historic first Motors TV live race meeting.
The attraction of getting your race on TV encouraged several more drivers out than there had been at the first meeting. Whether this was due to the location, commercial opportunities or the drivers being vain, was never fully investigated. Nearly all of the competitors that had been at Cadwell were in attendance, but they were joined by several notable names.

Qualifying for race 2 followed shortly after qualifying for race 1, so the track was still damp, but drying. Crook would take no part as he was still changing his engine for Trevor's spare one, and Davies only managed one lap before pulling up, leaving him 13th on the grid, just ahead of Paterson, who was not having the most enjoyable of weekends driving the Racehire.com car. Up at the sharp end it was Hopkins and Fritchley again, but this time with Sammie on pole. Hollis was 3rd again but this time it was Matthew, not Richard. Graham was 4th, followed by Simon Clarke (replacing Wayne Cowling), Robinson and new club chairman Steve Panas (replacing Ainslie Bousfield).
