A very close fought championship in 2010 saw the championship come down to the wire at the 24 hour race at Snetterton in August. Any of the top 3 drivers could have won, but it was Sammie Fritchley who was eventually crowned champion - the first lady driver in the history of 2CV racing to do so!
A tie for second place between Gadget drivers Wayne Cowling and Simon Clarke was resolved in Cowling's favour due to earlier scoring of points.
A full run-down of the points follows:

Heavy rain was predicted for the Sunday, but in the end it never really happened, although it did rain for most of the day. It just wasn't heavy enough to make a real difference. Of course, when qualifying had occurred over 24 hours previously it had been bone dry, and it was Simon Clarke (replacing Cowling) who took pole for the 2nd race running. Ainslie Bousfield (replacing Panas) joined him on the front row, just 0.2 seconds behind. A further 0.3 seconds back was Phil Myatt (replacing Fritchley), who made his second return following the finger incident. Paton was getting better and better, lining up 4th, ahead of Graham, Robinson, Storey and Rundle. Row 5 was an all Hollis affair, with Matthew one hundredth of a second ahead of Richard.
Having noticed a bit too much camber on one of the rear wheels, Richard Hollis decided to re-bend the axle slightly. It was only upon attempting this several times that he figured out that something wasn’t right. A quick inspection under the car revealed the problem - a rear axle that was in two pieces!

The 2CV racers hadn't been to Croft since 2005, so for many it was a new experience. The track itself is predominantly a power circuit like Snetterton, but with the twisty first and last sections to catch out the unwary. The length of the paddock could also catch out the unwary if you didn't allow enough time for a toilet break (although the clever ones had remembered to bring bikes)! Unlike the previous rounds, this was a 2 day meeting, which meant that conditions could easily change between the qualifying and races, and that there would be the chance to have a long lie in on Sunday morning!
After their dominant performance at Oulton, it was hard to see anyone beating the Gadget cars, but after first qualifying it was obvious that the gap wasn't actually that big. Wayne Cowling was once again on pole, but by only half a second from Anthony Robinson. Steve Panas and Sammie Fritchley made up row 2, whilst Cadwell pole-sitter Lewis Hopkins returned in in 5th. Andy Smith put in an appearance in Richard Hollis' car, but was shocked To find himself down in 14th and last - for reasons that would not become apparent until Sunday morning!
