The second race at Mallory took place later the same day, and with only one win to his name this season, Myatt was looking to finish the season with another. Technically he was already champion after finishing 2nd in race 1, scoring himself 90 points, and putting him mathematically beyond Andy Smith, who was only able to take 60 points.Several cars changed drivers for the second race. Neil Thompson made way for wife Christine in car 24 (Stinky). Steve Panas took over Wayne Cowling's number 2 Gadget Racing car. Pete Sparrow jumped into Christian Callandar's Clockwork Orange #14 car. 'Mad' Pete Cardell-Williams hopped into Andy Smith's #13. John-Paul Wilkinson took over Rambo (#26) from Graham Harper, and Frank Barnard stepped in to replace Nigel Hollis at the wheel of Wee Fiona, the 3rd Hollis Motorsport #70 car. Derek Coghill started the second race from the back of the grid, after problems earlier on in the day. As the red lights went out, Derek got a great start and was already ahead of 3 or 4 cars before the first corner.Meanwhile, out at the front, Myatt was leading the pack, closely followed by Steve Panas, then Sandro Proietti 3rd, Martin Hindley 4th, Greg Wheeler, John-Paul Wilkinson (good start!) and Mad Pete. Those top 7 remained the same for the next few laps, with Andy Pirt in 8th, Sparrow easing himself into 9th place after starting 16th, and Sammie Fritchley tucked up behind him. Again though, Sammie was on a charge, and it wasn't long before she'd elbowed past Sparrow, and by lap 4 she'd charged past Andy Pirt and Mad Pete for 7th place. Matt Riley and John-Paul Wilkinson slotted in behind Andy Pirt, in 11th and 12th respectively. By lap 5, Derek Coghill had charged his way up to 11th, with the top 10 remaining in the same positions. A gap was beginning to form between 4th place Hindley and 5th place Wheeler, then another gap back to Sammie Fritchley and Pete Sparrow, who had swapped places again and gained 2. Pete Cardell-Williams was in 8th, Riley in 9th, 10th was Andy Pirt, and Coghill 11th. Lap 8 saw Sparrow get past Sammie again for 6th. Andy Pirt got ahead of Matt Riley, which slowed that pack down allowing Mad Pete to get a bit of a gap. Rich Hollis was on a charge in 12th, with his brother behind him in 13th, then Wilkinson 14th. Both of the Hollis brothers went wide at the hairpin, dropping Rich Hollis back a few places.Steve Panas made a bold move on lap 9 to take the lead and get ahead of Myatt at the hairpin. Hindley also took advantage and got up to 2nd, demoting Myatt to 3rd, with Proietti chasing him down in 4th place. Riley and Pirt swapped places for 9th on lap 10, and then swapped back on the very next lap. Sammie dived ahead of Sparrow once again on lap 12 to take 6th place. Pete Sparrow then returned the favour a lap later, and jumped 2 cars to take 5th. PC-W saw the opportunity and leapt 2 places to 6th, pushing Sammie down to 7th and Greg Wheeler down to 8th. 9th was now Wilkinson, with Matt Hollis close behind in 10th, the losers being Pirt and Riley, who dropped back to 11th and 13th respectively. On lap 14, Myatt moved ahead of Proietti, and Sammie got back up to 5th after a bold move! Proietti wasn't about to give up, so on the very next lap he re-took Myatt for 3rd. Derek Coghill took to the grass on the exit of the hairpin.Myatt moved up to 2nd on lap 16, with Hindley now in 3rd, Proietti in 4th. On the next lap, Myatt was able to steal the lead of the race, with Hindley following into 2nd. Panas was demoted to 4th. Proietti made it to 2nd on lap 18, with Panas moving up a spot. Hindley drops to 4th. Panas regained the lead on lap 19, with Proietti taking the lead on lap 20. Myatt remains in second. Sammie Fritchley loses a spot to a charging Pete Sparrow who takes 5th. Myatt again assumes the lead for lap 21, with Panas in 2nd, then Proietti, then Hindley in 4th. There's a large accident at Gerrards, with Matt Hollis, Wilkinson, and Matt Riley getting involved. Matt Hollis and Wilkinson failed to finish. On the last lap, the order was the same, but a last corner attack from Hindley saw him taking 3rd place from Proietti right at the end, and that's how the race finished.
